Evaluation of Interview

This is the interview i have created.

A hug from Johnny Borrell, a drink with Liam Gallagher, admiring glances form Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding- for a big brother contestant last nights amp awards bash would be long wet dream. For any of the class of 2009- a Monkey, a Klaxxon or even a Horror it would at least confirm their arrival into the palace of sin called pop stardom. But for Birdtron- poet, punk veteran bon vivuer- it was merely “the usual shenanigans” a night out like any other, in the past month he has jammed with Paul Weller, gigged with Noel Gallagher and busked with Supergrass for worthy causes ranging from teen help to curing cancer. Last week he even rubbed shoulders with Tom Cruise at the London premier of his latest blockbuster. “ I went to the premier” he confessed “I thought I’d get the red carpet treatment, but I ended up slumped other in the bar after the show drinking champagne with Chris Martin getting a how to save the world speech.” Then there’s dealing with the fates of his ex-band mates and their troubled relationships in and out of the papers. Birdtron definitely has a lot of explaining to do so we sent out chief reporter Helen Jameson out to do some work.

AMP” So Bird what do you say to those who feel that your new album has made your music look simple and easy?” BT” Bollocks to them tossers they haven’t got a clue, let the fans judge, that’s what I say. The fans like it, it flew to number 1, it’s a big hit in my eyes.”

AMP” Since you and the boys have split up you have gone on to big things, has this effected your relationship with lads?”BT” well obviously there were problems otherwise we wouldn’t of split up but I think I wanted to go solo but as far as I am concerned we are all in the band till we die, so we are still mates.”

AMP” What’s your favourite thing about your new album?” BT” That’s a difficult question to answer, when you listen to albums you have favourites but when you make one you like them all because you wrote them and you wouldn’t if you didn’t like them, if anything the reception from the fans has probably been the best thing. I didn’t and the company certainly didn’t expect all the success especially with the mixture of the fan base but that’s something you want from a album is to attract people whop wouldn’t usually want it.”

AMP” How is the tour going so far?” BT” The tour has been ridicules thus far and I am sure it will get better, to go from pubs to selling out Wembley is amazing so its been a tremendous experience. I wasn’t expecting such an amazing atmosphere bet its been unbelievable and then hen I goes slow and the whole crowd sing along its just wow.”

AMP” Once the tour is done then what will you pursue a break or a reunion?” BT” Erm, I will probably have a little break to get my head straight but after that I am not sure, I certainly wouldn’t rule out a reunion because me and the lads are such good friends but with us just making up we wouldn’t want to have a rift again but never say never.”

AMP” Finally, going from a small time band to the largest selling solo artist of the year how could you describe your story?” BT” Its really been awesome from the difference in venues to people coming up and saying that your music means something to them is wicked, also the girls aren’t bad either. I guess to some it all up I need to borrow words from Vinnie Jones, Its Been Emotional.

I feel that my interview is very similar to thoise of my rivals but with a little bit more umph. I have used references to alot of bands and people who are genre icons in this type of music and those references should resonate with the reader to create a coolness of the magazine and provides a vivid description of luxurious award ceremonies and thus creates an idealic daydream for my readers who aspire to success.

When i compare my interview to some of the interviews of my magazines competition i see alot of similarities When i compare it to the market leader NME's interviews.

Nme like my magazine provide a scene setting introduction to the interview which is very well written and then it quotes someone, usually with a view against the interviewees and then there questions. This format is similar to my own apart from my magazine is probably less poetic and quicker to the interview than Nme although what they do is an effective way to fill the article. I feel my interview has a lot of honest questions which Nme does not which may be a factor for the audience to favour my magazine over Nme's.

Graphics and logos that i have created for my magazine

This is the font i have chosen for my magazine cover and i feel it fits the genre. i will edit the image so its in coulr scheme of the magazine.

Thsi is my artists logo. I feel it fits in with the robotic sounding name and i will make the coulrs fit in with my scheme.

This my magazine cover logo. Ilike the font and feel it fits as well as the title name which has all the connotations of rock music.

I have edited the images so they have two colours and a strange recognisable style. I feel the coulrs fit witht e indie scene and will look correct in comparison to other indie magazines such as nme.

photos 2

This is an image up close with the band that features on a lot of contents pages in magazines of this genre and is usuallly accopanied witha letter or something breif like that.

Thsi si an image of a live gig taken on a gantry. This image shows them during concert. It is not very clear who it is and is a bit pixelated so if i use it, it would probably be as a small image clip.

This image is in a stereotypically grotty indie place . This image may not be the best to use as it is a bit unprofessional with the picture and it also is a bit pixelated.

This image is quite stereotypical as the model is not interested by the camera and looks natural; playing the guitar where he is.

Photos i have taken for my magazine

These are some of the photo's i have taken whilst creating my magazine.

I had my model pose in a certain way for these photographs as i wanted to achieve a pose which is similar to that used by magazines of a genre icon which is liam gaalagher. My audiance my recognise the pose and that is why i have chosen to use it. I like the small amount of shadow just behind his face in this pose and i feel it may be useful for the full magazine.

Although the pose isnt bad the photo is too close and thus feels unproffessional so i dopubt i will use this one.

In this photo my model is looking at the camera as if he knows its there so it looks a bit artificial which is not usually an image you will see in indie magazines. Usually the images used when looking at the camera are done as if the band know the camera's there but dont care so i will most likely not use this image.

Although in this image there is no smile i dont like the pose as it looks abit uncomfotable and forced so i will not use this one.

This is a good stereotypical image form indie magazines. The artist is staring straight into the camera and makes eye contact with the consumer and is very useful for connection with the reader.

Flat plans

This the flat plan for my contents page, the content page is very important as a guide for the readers of the magazine so it is very important that my contents page is well organised so i will follow this flat plan as closely as possible to ensure that i have a well organised and good looking contents page.

This is the flat plan for my double page spread, it is taken up by the space for the interview. I like the pose that is being used and i will think about using this in my own double page spread.
