September 22nd Representation and mediation
Mediation is what the media does to us the audiance and to the subject being represented.
Mediation is shown through 3 diffrent ways
Selection
orginisation
Focusing
The media mediates selection because it chooses what to use and what not to use, this is usually done with the interests of the audiance in mind.
It also mediates orginisation by using layers and selecting things in front of others which are not true to real life.
It mediates focus by making us the audiance focus on one thing and not the other which is chosen by them.
