my prelimanary task front cover and contents

This is the front cover of my college magazine, i have on my cover a picture i took myself. The original picture taken in black and white below is on the right. I edited the image with photoshop and added different colours and contrasts to get the image i now have. I have made this a graphic special edition so i can use lots of colour and fonts. I have used a lot of colour and diffrent fonts to make the piece as interresting as possible and will hopefully attract the target market. I most like the title font and its very possible i use this for my real magazine cover in the future. I think these fonts will appeal to the target audiance as it is young and thus fits the audience stereotype.

This is my contents page, i have used an image i took myself of a snail and have subsequently edited to fit in with the colour scheme of my work. I again have used a variety of different fonts on the contents page which i feel are interesting and stand out. For my magazine content page i would like to have a similar style of fonts but with some more images on the contents page. I think the colours of vibrant pinks and yellows which connote youth and happiness, it also makes the page stand out.

These are the flat plans for my contents page and front cover of my college magazine. I will use this flat plan as a basic layout design to begin creating my college magazine work.

My college magazine audiance is obviously college students and some teachers. The audiance is usually aged between 16 to 20 witht the small majority of the market female. I used my questionnare to find my audiance.
The audiance is young and interested in fashion and spending their money as well as using modern technology to communicate so the magazine must show those features.

I have used this questionare to find out what the contents for my college magazine should be. The questions are varied so i can find out information without actually asking , i asked about brand loyalty by refering to chocolate in shops and things like that mean that they dont feel i am prying and will give an honest answer.
